Torrington Loafer
Soft, flexible shoes really appeal the older you get. Is it because you crave comfort above all else? Or because your feet just want to be caressed by your shoes? Whichever way round it is, there is a supposed trade off between comfort and style when you buy soft, flexible shoes. But not with these Torrington loafers.
They are made from buttery, Nigerian hair on sheep which is tanned in Scotland. This leather is wonderful, combining the softness of kid with the grain structure of calf which makes it supple and strong, ideal for these shoes. They are unlined and don’t have stiffeners so that you can wear them as full on loafers or with the backs down like sliders. We love the flexibility this allows.
In addition to the softness of the leather, we have given them a very thin Rendenbach leather sole with some rubber pimples for grip so that they are light and flexible, ideal for travelling light – they pack top to tail and take up no space in your travel bag.
This is the first style in our new Bespoke Unstructured range of soft flexible shoes
UPPERS: Nigerian hair sheep with a single side seam
