Emerson Derby Shoe

Bespoke derbies are an absolute staple here at Carreducker. They can range from dressy to very casual and have the advantage of a wider opening fro the laces. Consequently, they are ideal for customers with wide feet or who find it hard to reach their feet comfortably. In this case, the customer had both problems so we decided that bespoke derbies was the only way forward for her.

We agreed that we would try to design them so that the eye was drawn to the length of the shoe rather than the width, so the wing cap was an obvious choice. And we also feel that a lighter leather is more flattering for the wider foot.

We had to cup the heel well because she has narrow heels so we extended the stiffeners on both sides to keep the feet in the correct position

We Blake stitched the soles and attached a leather heel block to keep the price as competitive as possible.

UPPERS: soft tan calf; wing cap, plain fronted; blind eyelets

LINING: straw veg tanned calf; reverse counter for heel grip

MAKING: hand lasted; Blake stitched leather sole; natural finish throughout
