Burton Oxford Shoe
Bespoke oxford shoes come in all shapes and sizes and are an absolute essential in any man’s wardrobe. We make a lot of them and these are a copy of a pair we made for a valued customer.
Sometimes, a customer knows exactly what they want and, on this occasion, he had these shoes in his mind’s eye. Initially, we were a little sceptical because it is unusual to make an oxford, a fairly formal style in a grain leather like this which is fairly casual in style. But of course we went with his plan and the result was these rather lovely bespoke oxford shoes. A happy clash of shoe making conventions!
What we particularly like about them is the straight cap with the 2:1 punching along the seam. It is a detail which we feel really balances the pull between the formality of the oxford with the relaxed look of the grain calf leather. This is helped by the choice of a natural finish on the sole and heel edges.
